Many of you know that this whole new journey began for me when I got sick and found out I had a dairy sensitivity. You also may know that I love cheese. I received a lot of really positive responses from people who have gone through something similar. It was a great chance to share my story.

Really enjoyed your article. It is so encouraging to hear stories like yours where the need for an inhaler seemed permanent, but instead became reversible by understanding your body and by being willing to try out the change (going without dairy), despite how very hard it felt to even entertain the idea at first! Perhaps not all of our problems can disappear by tinkering with and exploring our diets, but more and more, our diets play a larger role than we initially think! It was great to see all the reader comments too – what is it like to have these experiences without access to social media and communities like these? It makes such a difference to connect with others and see how we’re *so* not as alone as we think with this stuff.
Thank you Lora! And I couldn’t agree with you more about how the community out “there” is so great. The most rewarding part of posting the article has been the wonderful feedback and engagement online.
In terms of my asthma, I never would have thought it was dairy but as I type those very words, there was the inkling that maybe it was–I just wasn’t ready to accept it yet. Funny how that works. And true, diet does not affect everything but it certainly is a significant piece of the puzzle. Most important point is that we are all different so we need to find what works and doesn’t work for us!
